Biomimicry Product Development Manager is a six-day programme to Biomimicry Expert in design. How do you organise product innovation and questions of form faster and more sustainably?

Product innovation, sustainable architecture and questions of form move faster when biomimicry techniques are applied. In this programme you learn how nature can help you make the difference as a biomimicry designer.

Content

A considerable part of an organisation's success, and of its right to exist, lies in its capacity for product innovation and for sustainable, minimal use of material. Thinking naturally and ecologically helps designers make that shift. The programme combines theory sessions, assignments at your own workplace and a practical session. The theory sessions give you the grounding — scientific research, and the biomimicry models and techniques for natural design. The assignments put your own experience as a designer or entrepreneur and your view of sustainable form and structure at the centre. In the practical session a business case is worked out and analysed, turning what you have learned into a sustainable, natural design.

Structure, duration and workload

The programme runs over three months, with five training sessions and one practical day. Preparation and assignments take three to five hours a week on average, on top of the sessions and the practical day.

Who it is for

The programme is meant for designers and entrepreneurs who see nature as a source for sustainable form and structure. You are willing to take on new ideas and to share your own experience. You want to strengthen yourself in sustainability, cradle-to-cradle, lightweight structures and natural design and systems. You think at higher-professional or academic level and have no trouble reading English literature.

Biomimicry Expert

On successfully completing the programme you receive the certificate Biomimicry Designer. With it you are the natural designer who can apply nature's principles to product development, sustainable form and questions of architecture. As a Biomimicry Expert you are sustainable and ready for what comes next.

The pack also contains material specific to this programme, such as a syllabus and hand-outs. Use of the venue, coffee and tea and an extensive lunch buffet are likewise included in the total price.
